TravFoto Unique Photo Greeting Cards

5 by 7 inches. Each card is signed and the card and envelope are individually enclosed in a plastic bag; each card is labeled with a number and title. The cards are blank inside and the photo could easily be framed!

There are three sizes available - 8 3/8 x 4 3/8 (L);  6 1/4  x  4 1/2 (M);  3 3/4 x 2 3/4 (SM). They are handmade by a lovely couple in Southeast Asia. The duo collects wood shavings and plants.  They are glued onto hand -made paper and are indivdually bagged.  Ecofriendly!

There are 3 available sizes ( 3 1/2 x 2 5/8 inches (Sm) ; 5 1/4 x 2 3/4 inches (M);  7 x 5 inches (L)). They are handmade in Southeast Asia. The flowers are pressed and glued on handmade paper. Each is individually bagged.

They are handmade in Oceania. A portion of your purchase funds young girls' education. The dimensions of the card are 5 1/2  x 4 1/4.  They are "Quilled"  cards which require the artist to glue paper strips together, with different widths and colors, end to end, and then a fringe is added . The design is glued onto a thin cardboard. Inside each card is a paper insert on which you can write your message!  Each card comes with a distinctive envelope and is individually bagged.

The lovely postcards date back to 1908-1909 ( 5 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches) and are mostly German-made . In 2015 three boxes containing the postcards were found in an abandoned office building basement in New Orleans.  Nearly 2000 were purchased by a professor/ museum docent in Gulfport, Mississippi.  The museum in Gulfport was badly damaged during Hurricane Katrina ( and again in 2020!),  thus, a portion of your purchase is sent to the museum to support the many reconstruction projects.

There are several photograhers ( including myself, my husband and good friends). Several years ago ( Kodak film era ) my traveling companion accidentally broke my camera in Ushuaia, Argentina (680 miles from the Antarctica coast !)  Since we had only the one camera she took umteen photos throughout our journey---cruising beside glaciers and ice. Her photos focused on our multiple visits to the numerous penguin "rookeries".  

Since we had an abundance of awesome photos, we began our card business. There have been a myriad of other expeditions since then, so more photographs (cards!)  have increased the TravFoto collection.

Ishy Christine is a New York City based artist who works with ink, markers, color pencils, pastels and photography. Her work includes drawings and card-collage making. Through her work as a public librarian, she facilitates draw nights, paint nights and card making classes.

Several years, ago I had the opportunity to visit the Luxor Temple site on the east bank of the Nile River in Egypt. It is the site of ancient Thebes, the pharaoh's capital during the 16th-11th centuries B.C.  Today's city surrounds two huge surviving ancient monuments. The most graceful is the Luxor Temple. The Karnak Temple rests a mile north of the site.  The day of our visit, the lighting was perfect. We returned at sunset for a spectacular "Sound and Light" show.

A few years ago we were on "safari" in Krugar National Park, South Africa. It is one of the largest game reserves in Africa. We were fortunate to see the "Big 5": lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and buffalos. Other mammals make their home here too!  We also traveled to Hwange National Park, the largest natural reserve in Zimbabwe; lots of animals and great photo opportunities!

Myanmar (Burma); Hawaii;  Laos;  Southern and Northern California and Alaska

We traveled aboard a small ice-breaker ship ( The Marco Polo) in Antarctica. Since there were only 400 passengers aboard the vessel, we were transported to shore ( Half Moon Island) by orange dinghies. We had the incredible experience of walking beside and among hundreds of Chin-strap penguins. These charming creatures showed no fear and we were able to take hundreds of photos. Thus, "TravFoto" was born!

These photos are just two of the Tiffany stained glass windows in St. Saviour's Church, Bar Harbor, Maine. There were 12 windows installed between 1886 and 1907.

From all over the world. Some required hours of patience and with other snapshots, we were simply lucky!

The photos were taken in several places: Hawaii; Thailand; Myanmar (Burma); Vietnam; Sri Lanka and India.

Starting in Carmel, California, the famous "17 Mile Drive" begins. The drive winds through a forested area and along the impressive oceanfront.  One passes eight golf courses, three luxury hotels and the famed Lone Cypress Tree.    

The photos were taken in Death Valley, in Eastern California. It is one of the hottest places on Earth. The place is stark in appearance and haunting in name. It is a very much alive desert, and the name does not do it justice.
